10 Years of Color in the Ravine: Join the KinnArt Mural Project!

Can you believe it? The KinnArt Ravine Mural Project is turning 10 this year! What started back in 2015 as a little experiment in public art has grown into one of Edmonton’s most vibrant, grassroots art traditions and now, we’re gearing up for our biggest mural season yet.

If you’ve ever wandered through the shady trails of Kinnaird Ravine, just off Sheriff Robertson Park, you’ve probably seen them: walls bursting with color, stories, characters, and patterns each mural painted by everyday people who came together to make something beautiful.

That’s what makes KinnArt so special. It’s not just art in a public space. It’s art made by the public. That means you can be part of it.

So, what’s happening this year?

We’re going big. Like 62 murals big, covering a whopping 1,900 square feet of wall space.We’re hosting community workshops, open drop-ins, and mentoring opportunities so everyone can get involved—no experience necessary.We’re bringing together families, artists, nonprofits, students, and neighbors to paint side by side.

Whether you’re a seasoned artist or someone who just thinks it might be fun to try, you belong here. We mean it.
